~ A Virtual Tour of our Shops in Northern Ontario, Canada ~

Welcome to Lost in the Woods Boatworks! Strap on your snowshoes and we'll give you a quick tour of the shop. We'll take some firewood with us.

Yes, the shop's heated with wood -- and the occasional old Chris-Craft transom! It's a well insulated 24' x 48' plywood box-truss structure which gives us a clear span inside and plenty of room to swing boats. The large lump of snow to the left of the shop in the photo above is a 1939 Richardson lighthouse tender, built in Collingwood for service on Georgian Bay and now awaiting restoration.

We're located out in the woods of Carling Township, just north of Parry Sound, Ontario. That puts us right in the middle of the beautiful 30,000 Islands, some of the best cruising and paddling waters in the world! Killbear Provincial Park is just down the road from us, and so are our friends at White Squall Sea Kayaking. If you are curious and strong of heart, you can check our current weather forecast to see if the snow here is gone yet or not.

In addition to building our famous Double-Paddle Canoes, we repair, restore, and refinish all types of wooden boats, and ship various odds and ends (canoes and such) to all points of the compass. The photo below, a spectacular aerial shot of the shop, gives a glimpse of the countless canoes and other interesting craft scattered among the trees.
